Our mission

Co-funded by the European Union, THINKIDS proposes a practical "authentic learning approach" based on EU key competences for lifelong learning and the UN sustainable development goals to support teachers/educators and children (3 to 11 years) to find coherent between what they think, what they want or feel, and what they do.
THINKIDS will be enhancing early childhood and primary teachers' initial education, as well their continuous professional development by equipping them with atheoretical curriculum and a practical handbook with 24 educational authentic learning resources focusing on the 8 key competences for life long learning and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are part of the 2030 Agenda action programme for people, the planet and prosperity, promoted by the UN.
The 8 Key Competences for Lifelong Learning are recommended by the European Union as essential to citizens for personal fulfilment and for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Objectives and Results

Implement a transnational curriculum for Early childhood and primary education


Curriculum
THINKIDS for pre-school and primary school teachers to integrate key competences for LLL and SDGs using an authentic learning approach in their teaching.

Design and test innovative materials and open educational resources (OER) focusing on the 8 key competencies for lifelong learning and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals


Handbook for teachers with explanations of THINKIDS approach, the 8 key competences for LLL and the 17 SDgs and incorporating practical resources to implement in the classroom.

Support 3-11 teachers integrating the THINKIDS materials in their work life to enhance their professional development and increase the quality and range of initial and continuing training


Guidelines for the teacher to support the implementation of key competencies for LLL and SDGs using an authentic learning approach in their teaching in a practical and fun way.

Create an Innovative Knowledge Hub for informing, uploading, and downloading OER materials


Multilingual THINKIDS eHub to sustain the learning and active testing of the materials and handbook, including a set of technical specifications of the resource center.
